Phoenix Park

The people of Ireland consider Europe’s biggest walled urban park to be a national treasure. The park, which was founded over 350 years ago, encompasses 7 square kilometres and is located close to the city centre. It is home to Dublin Zoo and famed for its wild herd of deer, which may be spotted roaming the woodlands or crossing the road when you least expect it.

The deer were brought in 1662 when the park was established as a royal deer hunting area, but the 450-member herd are now free to roam. Phoenix Park is ideal for an afternoon picnic but do keep a watch out for deer who have been known to join in!

Airfield estate

Airfield Estate, once the family home of the Overends, is now a farm and historical experience available to the public for pre-booked visits. The estate is home to a variety of farm animals, as well as lovely gardens with an outdoor playground for children. Relax by taking a trip along with one of the numerous walking trails and take time to visit a variety of animals.

Irish museum of modern art

One of Ireland’s greatest Art Galleries is the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), which is located in Dublin city centre and the country’s national cultural centre for modern and contemporary art. The gallery features one-of-a-kind exhibits, commissions, and initiatives, as well as over 3,500 stunning artworks by Irish and worldwide artists. To allow for social distance within the gallery, IMMA has opened its doors to the public via free ticket. After you’ve visited the museum, enjoy a wander around the magnificent grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, on which IMMA is located.

Consider a day trip from Dublin
